Migraine is, indeed, one of the worse things that are happening to me. I am just drinking plenty of water. Then, I'll go to be and just close my eyes. I sleep when I feel sleepy but I just close my eyes and day dream when I am not sleepy or dizzy.

Oh Bee, I am sorry, migraines are awful.
I got for dark, I have a corn heating pad, I nuke it for 2 minutes- it provides warm, moist heat, very soothing. I lay down and I play classical music. Just barely audible.
And I try to sleep.
Oh yes, I have found excedrine migraine works...but I only use it if I can't sleep, it will keep you awake.

So sorry to hear of this. You must lay down and try putting a cold comprass on the back of your neck. Also caffine will help it. Blessings, M&M

Sorry to hear that you had a migraine yesterday and hope you feel better today. I don't get migraines myself but my husband does. He takes Excedrin Migraine and that works well for him, but if that doesn't work he has a prescription for it.

I rarely get headaches or migraines and when I do, they are a killer...to me, everything is about sinus pain...it can cause or be caused by headaches....if all else fails, I take a hot shower or put a hot towel to my face/head...to try to stop the pain....but before that, I usually lie down in a very dark room (that usually does wonders)...I try to stay away from meds, but if that is not possible I will grab Aleve, or Advil...not a big fan of Tylenol...but that is what my mom recommends...plus, I usually drink chamomille tea...and I like to add mint and sage to that....hopefully it goes away...sometimes, it does not, and I just sleep with my head pounding, and then the next morning it is usually gone. There has been one time that I remember it not going away, and it lasted two days...that is my suggestion.

I get migraines all the time. Now, I don't give most chiropractors the time of day, but I saw a chiropractor that had treated a friend for free and he worked wonders for me. I couldn't afford to go to him anymore because I didn't have insurance, so they did come back. An aromatherapy mask works well for me. Not only does it block the light, but the smell is very light and eases the pain as well. Also, if you ever get one that makes you feel like you need to hold your head together, try a tight headband. One that goes around your whole head and is stretchable. Adjust it to where it gives the most relief to the pressure in your head.
Massage also helps, and if you lay quietly with a neck pillow, that can help. You know the kind I mean? It helps prevent migraines sometimes by sleeping with it when you are headache free. And the list tip I have is that every morning, before you go to work or school, wet your fingers, lean your head back, and let a few droplets from your hand go into your nasal passages. I know, I know, sounds weird, but it works. Just don't drown yourself, because I mean only a few droplets.
Hope that helps. I've had migraines since I was 8 and I'm 25 now. They don't get any easier to deal with.

I agree migraines are something else. When I have a migraine I ask my wife to massage my head before the headache gets to the unbearable level. I turn out the lights or put something over my eyes. Then I ask my children to try and be quiet(rarely happens). Then if I'm lucky, I might doze off. There are times though that even if I manage to sleep I wake up with a bigger headache.
