Did you hear a soft voice from God? Do you have some basis?

silly you...of course there's no voice whatsoever..but then again, i do believe in fate and that every person you meet everyday, whether special or not is obviously God's will. It's meant for you..for you to learn from them or for them to learn from you.

One of the most difficult things Christians face is to know the will of God in specific situations. Of course, we already know His will in so many things. Any specific thing or any principle which is against His written Word is wrong, and that is the end of the matter. However, when we come to make a choice and there is nothing against either choice in the Word, we need His clear guidance - and it is always available. In the matter of a lifetime partner, we certainly need God's guidance. As a follower of Christ, we will, of course, conduct ourselves according to His revealed will. The first consideration in this case would be the spiritual condition of the boy/girl friend. Two people cannot walk together unless they agree on this most vital part of a Christian life, so we'll presume both are born again children of God, desirous of following their Lord. I believe the best introduction for a couple to commence a relationship is from being in the same youth group. Here, they see each other in various situations and get to know each other as friends. I do not believe in such a thing as love at first sight. Love develops and grows. Friendship and RESPECT are the main ingredients to develop love. As the couple start developing a special friendship, their interests, philosophies, beliefs and personalities should start to merge. If each is spending time in the Word and prayer, seeking God's guidance through this time, they will know His will. No, I don't think it will be a soft audible voice, but God's voice is unmmistakable. When we commit our way to Him, He WILL direct our paths.

Very well said. God's voice is surely not audible but when we walk in close communion with Him through His word and our daily living, it is unmistakeable. Appreciate that.

I hope there's a way to know that that voice is coming from God. Cheers.
