What do you think of Hollywood's current obsession with skinniness?

When I was watching TV, I noticed that a lot of actresses these days are trying to lose weight and to the point that they look so skinny. I mean they already look thin on TV but according to some experts, you will atleast look 10lbs. heavier when your on TV. Just imagine how thin the celebrities are in person. I think it is not healthy anymore to be so thin. What are your views about it?

Hollywood is the poster child of what is NOT healthy. Not physically, emotionally or morally. Just this latest trend of half starved Celebrities is proof it’s not right. I think it’s sick to be so skinny and it’s an awful message to send to the young girls and now boys who are very impressionable. One should not jeopardize their health, for profit or fame if you ask me.

i think that what Hollywood and the media are presenting as an image of beauty to society at large is sad. Pretty much everyone has come to think that only if you are extremely thin are you truly beautiful, and that has caused a lot of teens (and other ages) to feel that they have to starve themselves in order to look good. I have never been able to starve myself, lol, and I'm still not skinny, but I do feel a lot of pressure to be thinner and to look better. I know too that seeing all of the 'beautiful' people on television has caused me to feel so down about my looks at times that I have barely wanted to be in the public. So I am really saddened by Hollywood's obsession with skinniness. I really wish that the media could find a way to change things around and that a more healthy size of woman could be considered the most beautiful way to look.
