What do you mean by "Happy ever after"?

I love fairy tales and movies with Happy Endings. When I was younger I would always pretend to be Cinderella, waiting for my beautiful prince and to live happily ever after. Now I am married and got my beautiful prince but what really is a happy ending? What is happy ever after? Is there something lacking in my story to get the happy ending or a happy ever after? So my question to everyone, what to you is a happy ending? Does an ending have to exist to be trully happy?

now i am single but soon i will get married . after marriage i will see that my life is happy or not .

It is assumed that if you have got what is meant for the happiness for lifetime then naturally you will have happy times ahead, actually it should be called happy beginning.
