As far as I know, the toothpaste tube is filled from it's backside (and then its back is pressed and closed), so there shouldn't be a problem to fill it with different colored stripes.

Hmmm... don't think so because if you mess about with the tube and cut it open, the colours are all mixed... but the still come out as stripes... now how does that happen?????

The toothpaste tube is actually filled with stripes of toothpaste, and when it's squeezed the stripes go through the hole and you get a striped toothpaste. Maybe you just damaged the tube too much. You can read more about striped toothpaste on the en.wikipedia.org if you search for toothpaste.

I would guess that since just about everything is done by computer and machine that it is just simply sandwiched before it is tubed!!!! But that is definitely something I had never questioned before!

Further toothpaste discussion ... What about the glitter that is in the kids toothpaste. How can we be sure that it really is edible? Maybe the high metal content of it is what is making them all little hyperactive mutants. Sure, they don't eat it but it's in their mouth for a minute to two minutes ... it could explain a lot of things ...
