I am starting this discussion because I just responded to one about children and secret names. This is a plan I have in place for my teens. If I call them, or they me, when they are out, at a party or at night, or anytime, and they are in danger-because of being around drugs or drinking, or a guy or whatever. They ask me a question with the word "president" in it. Like "did you hear the president on Tv today", or "I am with the class president", or something like that. That alerts me to the fact that they are in a situation they do not want to be in. I then tell them that they have to come home-or I will go pick them up. It gives them an easy out and they do not have to tell thier classmates or friends that they do not feel comfortable in the situation. So far, I have only had to use it once. BUt it is nice to know it is there. Do you have such a plan in place?

That is pretty smart. It sounds as if you are not one to fall into the trap of peer pressure. Smart girl!
