Does Popping Zits Scar Your Face??

As a teenager I had a LOT of zits - I never popped them and they still left scars. Then I went to a beautician for facials and part of the procedure they used was to pop my zits! It hurt so much and when the beautician left the room for a minute I got up to look in the mirror and there was blood all over my face! All those facials did help to clear them up though.

Hey! I'm a holistic aesthetician and my answer is no, in general it's not true that popping zits will leave scars that will stay forever. Popping zits incorrectly though will leave scars and depending on how nutritious your diet is and other lifestyle aspects, it may take a very long time for them to clear. It's very possible for them to clear though. There's the easy route using blemish clearing creams and there is the more long lasting, more healthy route involving refining your diet and habits so that your skin clears on its own. It just depends on which way you want to go:).

My diet was fine - my problem was hormonal. The scars were left before the zits were popped by the beautician. But most are not noticeable now though.

Yikes! I hope I didn't ruin my skin when I was younger. My makeup covers it up okay though :(

yup, i have scars too, i use to pop zits too when iw as a teenager.
my mother used to say that do not pop it, but i do, now i have scars on both cheeks,,

I have never gotten a scar from it. so i guess that it doesn't leave one.

It can leave scars, it depends on your skin and how well you heal.
If I have any, I can't tell, I have a ton of freckles, and I also have skin that heals really well. (I have a dog bite on my face that no one can see the scar, but me)

Yes it can . I have some dark spots on my face from doing that I read that a dab of garlic juice can help get rid of it but I never tried it yet. Don't pop your zits.
