Vista is indisputably a milestone, and not just for Microsoft but for the entire PC industry. It's got a few new features, you can save your progress in most of the games included with Windows Vista-even the carry-overs from earlier versions of Windows.

To be honest, I do not know much about it at all. I just let my husband take care of all the computer stuff, so that I don't have to worry about it at all.

okay as far i know it needs a minimum of 15 gigabyts of hard disk space..direct X 10 supported AGP (PCI express X16). at least dual core can unleash its work ability. At least 1 gigabytes of DDR ram (1,2,3). i think its gonna be huge but i have heard if you are playing a video and you cant provide enough copyright informations regarding the video, the chances are vista will lowered down the quality so you cant enjoy even a DVD high definition movie if it doesnt have enough copyright information! i think this feature sucks....dont u think same?

All i know about Windows Vista is that it's the biggest venture of Microsoft to date. Took more than 5 years to be launched. This is the longest gap between two Windows releases. Is billed to be the best thing to happen to the computer world for a long time. Hackers all over the world were invited by Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates to try & break into the new OS. An astounding number of billions were poured into the project It includes hundreds of new features compared to its predecessor Windows XP. Significant being the graphical interface, improved searching , multimedia creation tool like Windows DVD maker & completely redesigned networking , audio, print & display sub-systems. It also uses p2p technology to increase the level of communication between home network. You can also write high quality application here easier than with the traditional WINDOWS API. However like I told earlier, the primary objective with Vista is to improve the state of security in the OS. One common criticism of XP & its predecessors has been their commonly exploited security vulnerabilities & overall susceptibility to Malware, Viruses & buffer overflows. Due to this , in early 2002, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates announced company wide 'Trustworthy Computing Initiative which aims to incorporate security wok into every aspect of software development at the company. Microsoft stated that it prioritized improving the security of XP and Windows Server 2003 above finishing Vista, thereby delaying production.

And if you're thinking of going for it, then i would advise you to wait for the next service pack to be launched. Attractive though the features seem to be, but the fist service pack is sure to have bugs in it, remember Windows XP service pack 1. But i should complement it for the service pack 3 of Windows XP. If i were you , then i would have waited for the next release of Windows Vista.
