Basketball experts pick these two as the best point guards in todays era. Both are intelligent players (knows the game well) and have excellent ball handling skills. who's your pick?

I would prefer Steve Nash over J.Kidd because of the way Nash has been such a huge factor for the Suns' performance. Aside from being a 2-time MVP, he has a way of bringing out the best performances from his teammates. His recent injury in which he missed 4 (?) games and the Suns lost most of it, is just an indication how he's really carrying this team.

I'm going for Jason Kidd. Tougher defensively. Steve Nash one-on-one with Kidd. I think Jason's gonna win. If Steve Nash and Jason Kidd exchange places, Suns will be NBA champs, Nets would probably be hanging for a playoff spot. Although Steve is a good shooter, he is a very big liability on defense. They are almost the same age, but Jason has more accomplishments, stat wise, without his teammates, Nash is nothing.

I like Steve Nash because hes better overall for his team and a 2 time MVP. Nash is a better shooter and dishes out more assist.

fundamentally, its jason kidd. both are good point guards but kidd plays better defense. though, steve nash is the perfect offensive weapon a team could have. he could score at will and the best player to make his teammates look better

I'd pick Steve Nash over J-Kidd. First reason I have is Steve has won the MVP award twice in a row and he is gunning for his third trophy in consecutive years. Second is that Nash shoots better than J-Kidd whether be it for three or two points. Third, look at the achievement of the Suns over the past three years. Steve has been their ultimate all-around basketball guy and he is their consummate leader. So, that's what I think.

Nash and Kidd are two fantastic players, and two of the best 100 all-time, easily.. But you can't ignore the true greatness that Nash exhibits, especially since being traded to Phoenix from Dallas. When Nash was a freshman at Santa Clara U in 1992/3, he led the Broncos to a first-round defeat over Lute Olsen's University of Arizona team, in a huge 20 point upset. Vegas was hurting and Nash was unbeleivable at 18. Since then, he's only defied the odds by being an enormous contributor wherever he goes, despite the fact his size is nothing compared to most.

Absolutely. Nash is so unselfish. That is why he is the MVP and everyone loves him.

In my opinion it's Steve Nash. Two MVP awards to show for long playoff runs on his resume. Jason Kidd has also had good teammates like he did years ago with the Mavericks, but he hasn't done anything close to what Nash has accomplished with the Phoenix Suns organization. Steve Nash is the best point guard in the NBA right now and every team out there would love to have him on its roster. Can you say the same for Jason Kidd? I don't know. The NBA is a business and players are judge for what they do on and off the court. Remember his out of the court scandal with his wife a couple of years ago? I think that's something basketball owners and fans analyze before accepting a player and that's why most people out there will support Nash before they support Kidd.

kidd is alright. he's never been a very prolific scorer nor is he an overly great ball handler. he's always been a decent point guard with better than average defense. he was never on a great team, he never has had the players the caliber that nash has. carter is decent. he's no Shawn Marion or Boris Diaw. and as far as Nash goes, well he's an imaginative, creative guard with the best ball handling skills i've since...well since Bob Cousy. it doesnt matter what you throw at Steve, he's going to find a way to break down the defense and create plays for his teammates. Nash is the best point guard in the last 25 years. i defy anyone to find any other player better than Steve. Lenny Wilkins was great, but not an excellent ball handler or passer. he was always a good scorer.

There is no doubt that Nash is the top out of the two... and shoot the way that Chris Paul has been playing, they both could loose the best pg title very soon...

Steve Nash. He's got a lot more in his arsenal than just seeing the court well and finding his teammates to make great plays; he can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court and he's a great finisher on the drive, as well.

A lot of people would say Nash, but I am going with Jason Kidd. He is a better all-around player with defensive skills that Nash does not posess.

Nash. To me, Steve Nash can take any kind of situation and break it down to the point where he can get through anyone and either dish it off for an easy assist or drive to the land and lay it in. He is a very 'eyes-open' player, and always seems to get something positive done on defense.
