I just did mine and I'm not quite satisfied with my refund. I only got $523! Last year I got $1,044 ugggh! I think my income is a little higher this year that's why. Anyway, I tried to do State tax return but there's no free site, lol. Of course I rather do it for free. Do you guys know any free state tax website? Thanks!

I did mine last week. I wasn't sure how our refund was going to look because we both had income that was untaxed and this was our first year filing married. I was very happy with the refund. Even though we made more than the year before and we had to pay in some taxes, we will be getting a few thousand back.

As far as the free site for state, you should see if you can e-file directly with them. That is what I normally do every year and they don't charge anything. Thsi year I used taxAct and they charged $15.99 to get federal and state done.

I just did ours about a week ago, and hope to have it back soon. I think its the best we've ever gotten, over $4000.
As far as the state tax goes it really depends on where you live. When we lived in Kansas, they had a program you could download and do your state tax for free. I don't know of any of the big free online programs that allow you to do your state also, without paying extra. I'm fortunate this year to live in a state with no income tax.

Damn! That's a lot of money, lol.
I'm from California and it sucks that there's no free website to file a state tax.
Thanks!
