How can someone die from drinking too much water?

Most of us think of water as the healthiest drink in the world. But in abnormal amounts, it can actually cause death, as happened to a woman in California recently. How can someone die from drinking too much water?

I think it does cos I was advised by doctor to reduce water intake cos it makes my body bloats and round. Now since I have reduces it does make difference and no more such probs though I luv drinking H2O so much than any other drink.... ooopps.... i wanna drink now.....

I gues it does happen. because I was advised by doctor to reduce water in take cos of water retention in my body so my body gets bloated an round. Now since I reduced i can see improvements and no more such problems though I still love H20 sooooo much than any other drinks.
