Well, I've been a PHP developer for 4 or 5 years, and it wasn't until recently that I discovered ASP.NET 2.0. I am completely rethinking the way that I do things. Things that would take me several hours to program in PHP are drag and drop controls in ASP.NET using Microsoft's Free Visual Web Developer 2005. I love the fact that it supports any .NET language (there is even a project that is in the works to make PHP compatible as a .NET lang). Using VWD as a designer took some getting used to, it still primarly supports tables, and it didn't import my PHotoshop slices as well as dreamweaver. In fact I had to create the design in photoshop, export it to dreamweaver to do some of my basic editing, then import the html file to VWD and make another 30 minutes worth of changes to get the result I wanted. All in all though, I would say that ASP.NET 2.0 is a vast improvement over legacy ASP and I am seeing more and more .aspx file extensions when I visit websites, so it is here to stay in full force.

If you reffer that it's substituting the old ASP, it's something normal because it's have a lot of advantages, but i think that PHP it's the most used and it will be until it's free and there are appearing better new versions of it.
