Why is the man who invest all your money called a "Broker"?

Heh heh..lol!! tats a really good ques. I've thot bout tat thing loadsa times myself. u add d suffix "er" after a job 4 some1 doin tat job. So wen u add "er" after broke u get broker wich means some1 who makes u broke.. :D.. It is pretty crazy and i really think they shud cm up wit a better word! :)
