when i was a freshman in college, my boyfriend at the time treated me to a mocha frappe from starbucks and i was hooked. it was so yummy! and from there, i tried all the drinks from starbucks, from the vanilla latte to the green tea frappe. i've always been a starbucks girl, so much so that i haven't honestly tried coffee from any other coffee place; well except for dunkin' donuts (i love their coffee). for example, like gloria jean's coffees. i only ever have the hot white chocolate from there, never coffee. from seattle's best, i get only the javanilla, never coffee. when i think of coffee, i think of a tall hazelnut latte from starbucks. always. is it maybe just the hype of having a starbucks in almost every corner? how about from where you live? where do you guys have coffee?

Interesting that people get hooked on a place. I for one have never seen a Starbucks let alone been in one and I can live to tell the tale. haha Your description of the coffees does sound like you are drinking a pudding!!

you have NEVER seen a starbucks??? wow where are you from? :) it's weird because starbucks hasn't been around in manila for THAT long, and already it's on almost every corner. pretty much like 711s. please tell me you have 711s there...

Seriously? 711 is a convenience store that originated, I think, in the USA. Think of it as a super smaller size of Tesco in the UK, I suppose.

There was a joke on one of our local radio stations that started out with "Late Breaking News" and it went like this ... "In other news a Starbucks opened in the bathroom of an existing Starbucks" I still laugh when I hear that playing on the radio because it is so true. Every other corner has a Starbucks on it; at the mall there is one inside a bookstore than five doors down, a full Starbucks store front. That seems a bit excessive. One of the boys likes the Mocha Frappucino (venti of course) but at $4.40 a pop, it's a rare treat if I am paying for it. I think he likes the caffeine kick he gets from it LOL. We have places like Crazy Mocha, Tea & Me, Zen and Beans .. but they are usually not open as long as Starbucks. Me, I'm cheap, I make my own or go to Circle K and take my 40 ounce mug and get a refill for .99 cents.

Hahaha that's funny! And so true, by the way. It's a luxury that I indulge myself once in a while because Starbucks in Qatar is quite expensive as well. But not in Manila, though!
