If I dropped you into a forest would you be able to find your way home?

I moved east 2000 miles away from where I grew up and found that I had lost my sense of direction. I spent my childhood and youth hunting, fishing and trapping and always had a sense of direction but....
... when I moved east that all changed, can you tell me why?

I am so bad at going in the wrong direction when I come out of stores I now think about which direction I need to go before I step outside. :)
I have even driven in the wrong direction to head home or to get gas for the car if I don't pay close attention.

My sense of direction would be thrown out of whack in any location that I'm not familiar with. Leave me with a compass or GPS, yes I'd figure out my way home somehow. If not, I'd do my best to figure it out. I sure would be fascinated by the way nature gives you clues.

I don't see how it would make any difference as nothing has changed beyond your residence. East is still east as are the other directions. I think it's just the fact that you're in a new location and feel disoriented. I'm sure it'll pass. Good luck!
