why sometimes a good interesting or funny discussion may get 6 or 7 responses but something like ' what time did you wake up this morning?' get about 200 responses. puzzles me.

i am also wondering the same. in fact i had posted a similar discussion some time back. stupid questions get so many replies and good ones hardly get any.

i agree with you here, sometimes people may just think, "ill answer the ones that i don't need to think about it will only take me a second", probably because there busy and want to earn a cent or there just plain lazy like, lol the people who mostly all the time do that, you never see them responding on one of the thinking topics! :O)

Notice the lack of quality it took to get quantity? It takes no time to post or respond to a discussion like that. You need to put your name on some friends lists and get a network of people around you with quality posts and answers. Look at the star ratings, it does mean something.

The reason is quite simple you know... most of the ppl on mylot are here to earn some quick dough.... good topics actually require them to think and whack their brains out.... u really got to be a serious discusser out here to do dat.... and thus any topic which requires people to think, wouldn't attract much responses... and those who do... half of them repeat what has been said earlier... or drop in with one-liners they might as well not have dropped in!! i hope i have been able to answer your question!! cheerio!!

thanks techsam. wise words my friend but don't they realise you can earn more with 10 good quality replies than probably 60 or 70 one liners?

I totally agree with you! Many people just joined for the money, sometimes they get too serious when their supposed to be "friends" don't even respond to their non-significant discussions. It's really sad, right? I'm beginning to think that they are just here to earn something. But the thing is, this is not even gonna compensate for a real job! Don't worry, I still believe that when myLot said they require quality discussions, they really meant it because I'm just days old here and I'm doing well without referrals or help from friends. I just post quality discussions and respond well with like 5 sentences or so. Such a waste of brain not to use it really.

I agree with your other postings, that most people on here are here to make a quick buck. I prefer to respond to interesting discussions and specially my friends discussions (but that's generally why I picked them as friends, because they have the ability to put up a good discussion) I think people pick the easiest topics with the least amount of effort put into it!

thanks as always bizziebod. don't get me wrong, it's great that they pay you for this but if i replied to every discussion with yes or no i would soon get bored.

People are looking for something easy to answer. I know on occassion I've answered some of those stupid questions, myself. For the most part, I look for questions that I feel are revelant. But sometimes, I'm not really in the mood to write out long thought out responses. I find that I do this most often when I've got some kind of argument or something going on in one of the other discussions I'm participating in. I will still be on mylot, waiting for responses there, and just to fill in time I answer the stupid questions. Not because I think my earnings will be huge there, just to kill time.

I know exactly how you feel.. I recently started a similar discussion about people posting one word answers... and how maybe Mylot can introduce some software to remove the one-word answer posts....doubtful they will though.
