My son's first word was "mama." He said it in the cutest way too. I had left the room to go answer the phone, and he was sitting in his playpen watching me leave. Then when he saw I was gone for about 5 minutes he said "mama" over and over again. I ran back into the room and I picked him up, hugging and kissing him. He got a little scared by my reaction, but he was happy.

i've done that too, gotten so excited about something that my daughter did and kind of confused her and scared her at the same time because i was way too excited. but how can you not get excited when they are so cute and so smart.

Sam said Doggie and Daddy the same day. And he could differentiate between the two of them. It was really cute when he realized that we understood him. :-)
