Am I the only one that thinks that number two Silent Hill game is the scariest one of them all? I think it is so so scary... The first one had graphics that weren't scary at all except the 'club' hand on the guy... LOL --- anyway, did you all think that number 2 was the scariest or is it just me?

I think the fourth one was the scariest, but the second one was the best. I thought it had the most interesting the plot, the most interesting characters and I just really got sucked into it. The first one was decently scary, enough to make me jump a few times, but the second one and the fourth one had me on the edge of my seat. Three... it started out promising but then just got so ridiculous it was laughable.

That was my favorite playstation 2 game. I would only play it when my brother was around so he could tell me where to go. When I played it on my own I was at the part when you are trapped with the big guy (pyramid head) in the little room, I don't know if I got past it but I stopped playing. That game is really freaky and I want to play it again. The 'club' hand on the guy? Which character are you talking about? Does anyone remember the little bear creatures that appear in the sewers? They just appear out of no where and the look like little ewoks with claws, then they attack you. I sometimes get scared by the little shadow baby, I was playing this game (SH)a few weeks ago.

It's the best in the series if you ask me. The story is very deep as well. Hopefully SH5 will be similar.

I'm glad they have a trailer for SH 5. I thought they weren't going to talk about that game for a long time. I hope it comes out soon and I hope the makers of the game do it justice.

Silent Hill really is a scary game. it is more like 'psychologically scary' than 'visually scary' like Resident Evil games. SH2 is scary as hell. =S But wait til you get to play Silent Hill 4: The Room. It really scared the sh*t out of me. =/

I've never played the fourth, I dont think. I'm going to go and get it now though. Other people on here say it's really good too. Yes, I agree that it is "psychologically scary". I love it.

definetly! I think silent hill 2 is one of the most frightening, unsettling and disturbing games i've played on the pc. I really can't figure out why there are people who still say 'The Room' is the best and scariest. I think Silent hill's horror is extremely psychological and not graphic (in your face). It's depictions of fear do not lie in it's monsters and graphic violence, but rather on it's disturbing environments, music, and captivating storyline. Silent hill 2 had all of these ingredients, and was truly a good japanese horror game, just like Silent hill 1 was (although i liked SH2 better). You'd here a disturbing sound behind you, after which you'd turn and find nothing. It played with your mind! Also its completion revolved around the story rather than killing the monsters. 'The Room', although has a good story, and some good environments, emphasizes killing more, and much less on its environment and psychological horror issue. It had fewer ingredients like SH1 & 2 had, and so it can merely be seen as a Resident Evil game with a deep psychological theme which is hardly ever experienced in the game. But hey, 'The Room' turned out to be quite popular, and it still had a good story, although it wasn. I just hope that SH origins and SH 5 would both be reminiscent of the first two games that we've grown to love for those ingredients that are still today absent in horror games.

Not the scariest, (I give that to the first one) but the best for me. Silent Hill 2 eally played with my mind, specially on the part where James keeps on jumping on the holes on the ground, climaxing into an empty grave with his name on the tombstone, made me feel like I was descending to hell... "In your restless dreams, you'll see a man, Silent Will... He'll promise to take you anywhere you want, and you know he will... Well, he's alone right now, in a special place, waiting for you..."

Silent Hill 2 is definitely my favorite of the series. The first time I played it, it was pretty scary, but honestly I think Silent Hill 4 is scarier. The hauntings in the apartment just completely freaked me out! I actually went to replay it recently and got too scared to go on!

All I remembered that If you play Silent Hill, it would be woooOOoOOO~~. But for number 2... I prefer the room or number 4 because of that creepy room of Henry that surrounds monsters and it's in 3rd person view. But not bad you picked number 2 because I love them all. more power
