My kids ar 4 and 5 years old.. My 5 year old is is kindergarten, and before he got in they tested him to see where he stood in the acedemic level... He tested out at a 3rd grade level, and was just all about going to school.. Now that he is there, he doesn't like it.. His teacher keeps sending notes home with him stating that he is too active in class on the days that they are repeating information... Well being the smart a** that I am I sent a note to his teacher asking her if she ever thought of maybe challenging him a bit.. the days that he is learning something new, he is as attentive as ever, and good as gold... Do any of you have this problem? Are kids genetically smarter these days or what? Do any of you have any ideas as to how I could help his teacher out in this "challenging" situation? The next kid my 4 year old is testing out at a 2nd grade level. We went to test him for preschool, and the teacher was pointing at boxes asking him what the pictures were... She pointed to one picture of a car and said "What is this? It is what you came to school today in." My 4 year old wuickly replied without missing a beat.... "nuh uh, we came here in nana's big truck..." I about fell out of my chair laughing... He knows his full name, and all of his colors, can count to 100 in English, and ten in japanese... In your opinion, where are the best schools in the world? where do you think they are the harcest on the kids, as far as learning stuff?

Well, DS is only 13 months, but the doctor said based on his vocabulary and physical skills he's at 18 month level. He loves his books and seems very interested in learning new things. Especially if he's that much above in grade levels before kindergarten, I'll figure out how to homeschool him. I don't want him to be stiffled in a regular school. Congrats on your bright kids!

Well, you must be a proud parent, then. I think kids are really smart nowadays than the times I was growing up. I think they should be challenge all the time, it is good for their brains.
