Nothing like South Carolina

United States

You know you are in the south when you are driving down the road and everyone waves at you. You know you are in the south when you order tea and the waitress brings you sweet ice tea. You know you are in the South when you get cole slaw with every meal. You know you are in the south when you get grits with your eggs. You know you are in the South when you can wear flip flops all year around. You know you are in the South when you go to Wal-mart and run into everybody you know and half of them work there. I am from the south and I love to run around bare footed and I love swinging off the rope hung to a huge tree over the lake. I love being married to a man that is not from the south and when I say things like " Your shoes are in younder" He looks at me with a goofy look on his face and says "What?" See we southerners love to have a good time and we love God and you will not find no better hospility in the whole wide world. So Yall come on down ya hear.

Thank you. My hubby is from Portland Oregon and he said one day he would like to move back there. I told him I would visit anytime he wanted to. He knew I was a Southern girl when he married me and I am rooted to the south just like a beautiful Magnoya blossom tree.

Your place sounds good, by your description of it alone. The people appears to be warmhearted and caring. It must be good to live there. However, I will not envy you at all because, the Philippines if full of heartwarming and warmhearted people, too. Smiles are commonly flashed around even unto persons we do not know. It has become customary among most of us here.

It is kindof my dream to live in South Carolina. Weird since I have never been there, but it always seems to call out as such a perfect place to live. ;) I'm in Arkansas now and I would never leave the south. I just would be miserable if I left. You paint such a pretty picture of what southern living is all about.

Don't for get about the sweet tea w/ crushed iced. OMG is there anything better in life??? If you visit here make sure to get a meat and three with some fried okra and collard greens!!!! Yummy

Nothing can be finer than to be in Carolina is a serious understatement. I have lived in the most wonderful state of SC my entire life and so has my entire family all the way back since they moved here from Germany, which was my great-great-great Opa. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
