How to get active mylot referrals

I was thinking about this just a few days ago, obvioulsy the easy part is getting referrals but its getting referrals that are going to remain active that is the tricky part. And i came up with this Alot of people are using paid to surf and paid to click programs etc to try and gain referrals, and why they might be sucessful in gaining one or two signups the problem is that the people using these sites are there for the same reason as you, they are only there to find referrals for thier own sites, so even if they do sign up the chances of them being and remaining active are minimal So left me thinking about who would be the best audience to target, and the answer is so simple i was a little mad at myself for not putting for thought into it earlier. So who did i come up with? Writers of course The target audience are people that will not just join for the sake of earning a few dollars ( although that is definatly a nice bonus ) but they will also remain active as they are doing something they already love. Writers and freelance writers are always looking for more opportunitys to craft thier skill and earn a lil extra money on the side so i decided to test this theory and go find my audience I searched for a list of writers forums and websites, and freelance writing boards and decided to post there. The result? I have in the past 2 days aquired 20 new active referrals and not just one or two posts, these are people that are embracing the site aqs much as i am and you are, as it is a medium to do something they love. I am still getting email responses from my post and ads on writing sites with people wanting more information, and i find that jsut sending them directly to my lot to learn about this great site for themselves is the easiest way it really does sell itself. So anyways i just thought i would share this tip for people looking to gain some referrals, i would love to hear more of your thoughts and the stratagies that have worked for you.

Thank you for your advice. I'm currently signing up for a few forums and doing this. Hopefully I can find just one or two semi decent active people.

This is a very good idea and I guess I should have thought of this too. I kind of call myself a writer even though I haven't written any poems or short stories in a few months but since I have been at Mylot I have been thinking of starting a new blog with my poems and short stories. So this is a very good idea and I thank you for sharing this with us. :)

Well you certainly came up with a great idea, that was some brainstorm you had. I haven't even thought about the referral system on here I've just been busy posting and responding. Does it pay well for referrals?????

Absolutey if your referrals are active then you earn at least double what you would normally earn, you earn 25% of there earnings so if they earn $1 a day then thats 0.25 to you, so if you have 4 referrals thats a extra dollar, the more referrals the more you make

That is a great idea, i wonder why i never of it on my own though. And It is nice that it si win -win situation for everybody. the writers get the platform to hone theri talent which they like to do and also get few bucks and you get active referrals from it. Thanks a lot for sharing this information on mylot forum so other mylotians like me can benefit. I had posts it on my blog but didn't get referrals as it didn't generate traffic though. if i find some new ideas i will share with you and everyone at mylot forum. good luck.

i have communties in orkut... i posted there about myllot... by three days i got around 40 refferals..but the worst part is only 3 of them are active... so again i am goin to message all my refferals about my earning..so that it will encourage them to use mylot

I think the problem is that these people are already using orkut and dont have time for anything else, also these people are not neccasarily writers

Well it certainly worked on me, after all your link on one of those sites is how I found myLot.com, so thanks for that, if it wasn't for your innovation I might never have become a mylotaholic.

I find a lot of troubles to get referrals, for now I just have one, a friend of mine... but he's inactive, he has never posted a single message... too bad for me.

You are absolutley right with this one because the main reason that i am here is because I Love to write and i actually signed up through someone that referred me from a writing site and i have made $60 so i am guessing that my referral is happy ... LOL!! I think that i will definately also try this myself and let you know the outcome of this. What a great post and such a bright idea!!!
