what to do with my money?

Im in my early 20s and have started a new job and currently have a couple of thousands in savings, I have developed an interest in investment, however i know very little about it, can someone enlighten me on the types of investment available on the market?

Whatever is available as investment has following attached to it 1. Risk (Safer the investment lesser you earn) 2. Time (Longer time you invest higher return you get) 3. Liquidity (If you keep option to take back your money at your wish you end up getting less return.)
