coffee
no children's should not be allowed to drink coffe because.below 10 years because studies have come to know that below 8 years no child drinks coffee but after 8 yrs. the childrens can drink coffee because there is not as much toxic affect of caffeine on children ..in other words it's consumable caffeine,, i mean children can digest that level of caffeine..

Coffee is a stimulant (sp) which a 13 year old child does not need. An, $4 on a drink is crazy.

i think a child at 13 should learn to save money, rather then blow it on a drink...she's not quite old enough to have a real job, but her parents give her an allowance for helping around the house...so it's her money and she can do what she wants with it... i think she's bought into the hype of having a special brand/flavor of coffee...

My mom use to give it to my daughter when she was little,it didn't hurt her any, I don't think you should let them drink it all the time, but on occasions is fine.

When I was growing up at that age, it was cute for me to sneak my Dad's coffee or for my parents to give me a 1/4 cup coffee to dunk cookies in. I was never given a whole cup and treated like an adult, it was on rare occassions and just to dunk cookies in. I don't think kids need anymore caffeine in their diets. I won't go to Starbucks and pay $4 for coffe because I find it an outrageous price. Occassionally I will stop at Sheetz or some other convenience store, but I would not buy my child coffee. I would insist on hot chocolate, juice, or milk. With soda pop having all the caffeine and candy bars, the kids are getting sugar & caffeine overload which is helping to lead to childhood obesity. My philosophy is if my child insists that she has to have something, I say produce the money and buy it yourself. Since there is no age restrictions to purchse at the coffee shops, I know that she won't want to spend her allowance on a $4.00 drink. Besides, what has happened to the word NO, that this is just for adults and when you grow up, you to can have a cup of your own.

Coffee - Coffee beans smell great
Coffee can be taken by anyone exceot for infants.its addictive dats for sure but it also helps in many ways. It also helps in digestion.so its good and nothing bad about it.

No, I don't think it either healthy or economical. Kids will get to that, in due time, no need to rush them to it. The longer before they start (if ever they do), the better. I had palpitations when I was doing my undergraduate thesis manuscript, as I was practically kept awake by coffee. I feel bright and sunny now that I have controlled it to (my own estimate of) acceptable levels - not the cup every other hour over 24 hours! Of course, I still need a cup of so sometimes, but some days I can also go without coffee ... ooops! I think that's my cup now, coming. cheers!

Starbucks coffee is not fair trade and they pay their farmers about a dollar a day for their product but mark it up about 1000% for the 4 dollar drink as you mentioned. There's a literal epidemic of adrenal fatigue in this country by people drinking too much coffee, and I don't think any young person actually needs anymore energy than they have !

Hmm well I suppose that pop is just as bad as coffee, and a lot of 13 year olds drink that. I don't see a problem if she's getting it as a treat or something, I certainly wouldn't encourage it often.

I think if it is an every once in a while treat, it is ok. But I don't think kids much younger than that need to be drinking it.
