Always follow your own dreams. Your parents just want the best for you, but they are NOT you and they can't choose your dreams for you. And I don't mean to be rude, but whatever you choose to study, you do need to improve your grammar and spelling.

Well, it's kinda hard to tell... You may have talent in the medical field since many of your parents and relatives are in that field, but that doesn't mean that you are surely having a talent in that field either. A wrestling champion was once a weak boy who played violent. My advice is though, just follow what you think you like the best, and do not stop and worry too much about the result. By that I mean, whatever happens, do not look back at today and regret because you can't continue onto the future worrying about the past. Why do they think computer is useless. Tell them that without the usage of computer, many doses and machines they nowadays have wouldn't even exist. Plus, ask them how they feel if they have to do something against their wishes... They may have the same past experience (or they may not), but what would they feel if they put themselves in your shoes?

My opinion about someone elses plans for you has always been, follow your heart. No I don't think that you would be a good candidate from what you stated for the medical field. If computers is what you love then go after that dream. Do what you love and love what you do. GOod luck to you here at mylot.

Get a job dealing with computers in a medical setting. They need web designers and information technology staff in hospitals too. Just because you work in a hospital or medical setting doesn't mean you have to be a doctor or nurse. There are lots of other opportunities as well. This way you get to both follow your dream and mollify your parents. I have to agree with the first poster though who commented on your spelling and grammar. While it may be appropriate for a site like this, it will never wash in a professional setting. Speaking as a former recruiter, I can assure you that if I saw a job application with this kind of spelling it would be in the trash immediately! Good luck!

I think Personally, that you should go for the profession in which you are really intetrested in, for rest of your life you will be engaged in that work for your bread and butter. One has to enjoy his/her profession , in order to have job satisfaction and to have a fruitful and meaningful life If you select a profession in which you are not interested then you may very soon be ended up in a fruststion and life will be ahell for you. My father was a Accounts Officer in Government Organisation, I am a Veterinary Surgeon, my son wanted to Become an Engineer and he is studying his Engineering. Neither my father imposed me anything on me nor inturn I imposed on my son. Today all of us we are happy Well our parents may feel that they have a lot of experience in one particular field, since they know the ins and outs of the profession, they may readily guide their children in case of any necessity. Professions likeDoctors and Lawyers work hard and collect too many things during their life time and these things they simply go waste if there is no member to carry this profession further. This can be one of the reason why the parents want their wards to follow their foot steps. I personally think you must take your own decision and select your profession most liked by you as it is you who will ultimately will be dealing with it, on day today basis and not your parents like you mentioned. With the passage of time every one has to leave this world and your parents are no exception, and at that time you will have to be self relient! If that is the case why wait till that time? Why can't you be self relient right now? All the best!

i think first u have to listen ur parent's view what they behind this ,if they have a proper reason about that and their decision helps u in a forthcoming life then u must accept this otherwise not

Yes, they are your parents and they, in all their good intentions, can be wrong about you. Follow your heart. There will be short-term pains, but the long term gains are worth it! Here is where the majority voice can be so wrong. Go for it, girl!

Lets be real here. You are you and they are they. You were created with different dreams and talents then them. What would the world be like if we all had the same dreams and desires? I too thought that and once I took a course in accounting was failing miserably and skipped class constantly because I hated it. I thought I should follow my parents footsteps and work in an office. But I am truly an artist and would be really unhappy there long. In the end you have to live day in and day our with you. Stand up for your rights and set your boundaries with your relatives and especially your parents. They may have helped bring you into the world and taken care of you many years but that does not mean they have the right to dictate to you who you are to become. Your gifts and talents are given from the Creator. He sees your wishes and dreams. If you go aginst your hearts desires you will die inside every day. Believe me I know I ditched art school for a marriage to my high school sweetheart. I love him dearly and my children but part of me aches with what if, I had my art degree? Hope this helps :)

always set priorities in your life. if parents top the list of your priority then in that case you should listen to them. but if you think you can't see anything coming in between you and your dreams then go for computers. what i would also suggest is that expalin your parents that you can excel only in the field that interests you otherwise all your efforts for medical thingy will go down the drains one day.

If I were you I would follow your own dreams. Pleasing your family is not worth your happiness or your passions. Talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. If they love you they want what is best for your life not theirs.

Definitely DON'T give up your dreams! You are the one who has to live your life...not your parents. Although they want to see you follow in their footsteps, I'm sure they would be more concerned with seeing you happy in your life. Also, everything in life is going toward computers. You could still work in computers and stay close to your parents wishes by working for hospitals... Lord knows, hospitals are in desperate need of good people...in all fields. Stay true to yourself and follow your dreams... You have to make YOU happy first!

As you have interest in computer, you should independently choose computer field only.Your ma and her relatives are of old concept. You try your best to get them convinced.Once you got convinced you won half the match.Any how you choose your own interest.

God your case is just like mine...except that none of my parents are doctors. Yet,they are insisting on me to take up medicine just because "it is the best choice for us". They forced my brother to do it and they're planning the same for me. Its right that parents never would want wrong for their children, but you know what, there's always the possibility that parents are not seeing the whole picture of the situation. They're just making decisions for their children in the background of their own experiences and perceptions about life, NOT IN THE BACKGROUND OF OUR PERCEPTIONS, which is the way they should. What you and I should do, as I've learned uptill now from life, is stay positive and confident that the best option for us is where our interest lies and do our best to work towards it...so just keep endeavouring to go in computers, but make sure you really do have an interest in computers and its not just a temporary passion.

First we must understand that all parents wish everything good for us. It is wrong for us to blame our parents if they want us to join a certain field where they are. You like computer, but your parents wish that you can come into the medical field. I think your parents are trying to arrange your future by their own will, part of the reason may be that they can give you a lot of help if you join the medical field. But, you need to explain to them that your dream lies in computer and you can do a good job in computer... Try to persuade them to give you a chance to fight for your own dream...

We must at some times go be our parents wishes but not always. There are some things in Life which we must decide ourselves as we are going to suffer or enjoy and not our parents. But we must take their suggestions as they might have some experience of it. It is all better to follow our own dreams but also take the suggestions of parents. They might have some wishes to see their child to become a well-known person. We must not destroy their wishes and spoil their dreams.

Everbody has its own ideas and own level of thinking. If ur parents are expecting u in thier field.Just first think about why they are insisting coz they are well settled in their field and they want u to be settled. If u r really interested in computers and if u think that u can do it then only speak to ur parents politely and camly if ur that much capable enough and if u have that knowledge in ur field i dont think so ur parents will regret u.

i'd say follow your heart, they want the best for you but also let them know what you really want to be, and excel in that field. parents just want the best for us but also you have to enlighten them that you cannot be them... i am not saying that you have to disobey them, tell them what you feel and what you want to do. it may take alot of explaining to do... don't do something that won't make you happy or to please anybody, otherwise you end up pleasing nobody. and you don't want to blame them for something you didn't try to. but of course you also have to prove yourself. goodluck
