Art can be very therapeutic. Writing your emotions down or drawing your feelings can really make you discover thinsg about yourself you never know, it can help you come to terms with things that taunt you or do not comprehend. Sometimes its not worth paying so much in psychologist/therapist sessions, when you can do your own psychoanalyzing. I just started this and its made an impact in my life. I reccommend others look into this

I have done it since I was a child technically. Creating has always soothed me and made me feel calmer and safer in the world.

There have been a few times when I needed some counselling on handling stress and depression. The one thing they kept saying was to keep a diary of events.I did this for quite a while. When I feel myself starting to slip back,I will take out these journals to helprecall some of the depths I could obtain if I did not get a handle on things and/or seek the help I need.It can be scary to read our thoughts from a depressed state of mind .

I do this all the time, but I'm an artist, and my emotions have always been put onto the page.I make it quite literal so that no one can screw up what it should represent when they see the drawing.

Art done in art therapy isn't really supposed to be psychoanalyzed by anyone. The narrative abour the art is what the session should be focused on.

I have never heard of this before today. It sounds like it could be fun. I'm not the best artist, but my life seems like a mess sometimes. So, a not so great drawing would be ok I guess.
