The Texas Gov requiring the HPV vaccine

I just read an article that stated the Republican Governor is going to start requiring girls next year to get the HPV vaccine. Does this surprise anyone else? He is a conservative and doesn't believe in abortion, I am not sure about his stance on birth control. But this seems pretty radical of a move from a republican. Does it seem like that to anyone else? Personally, I think it is a smart move, just not one that I would have forseen a republican doing.

I think this this very smart and Repubicans can surprise you at times, even they can react to a public health emergency properly.

I have to say I am very pleased to see the gov taken this into his own hands and requireing this vaccine. I hope he is supported by other like minded republicans to help protect young women. Thanks for your responce.
