What is a blog? How can I create one for myself?

I have seen and herd a lot about having a blog. What does it mean and how can I create one. Is it of some use and how?
I am really interested in creating one if someone helps me out to know more about it.

Blog is like a online journal of our views ,
thoughts , experiences ... etc .

And in the beginning , I'd suggest to start
a blog on free blog hosting sites ( for
e.g. www.blogger.com ) .
