Anyone else think Valentines Day is overrated?

It's a "holiday" made up by Hallmark, chocolate companies and florists.

It all depends on who you ask and on the couple.

Yes, it depends. I was married for almost 40 years and we never paid any attention to Valentine's Day. And we still managed to have a great relationship. Anyway, if flowers and greeting cards are fun for a couple, then why limit them to just one day?

I don't have a companion and even if I did, I don't think I'd care if I got something on Valentines Day or not. I'd rather save the money for something nicer then a card and flowers.

I do. I mean why is there one day dedicated to showing people you love and care for them. It should be everyday that is done not just the one. It is so about pushing products on people. I do have to admit I do buy the kids chocolates. My hubby and I don't really do much for eachother, at least not spending an arm and a leg.We don't go over ten dollars on each other.

I agree with you. Valentines Day and Sweetest Days are so overrated. Just an excuse to guilt people into spending more money. I think that Valentines Day is cute for the kids at school parties, but that's about it.

It's just one more commercially oriented, overhyped day to ignore as much as possible. Like most of them.
