What would be your Ideal Home and Where would it be?

My Ideal Home - a log cabin
United States
February 3, 2007 12:34pm CST
If you could have any home, anywhere you wanted, what would you have and why? Describe what type of house and the area it would be in. For me, I would want a log cabin in the middle of thousands of acres! I would want to be way out in the middle of nowhere, and own enough land to put an animal refuge on and have it be a wildlife sanctuary. I would also want to own enough land so that developers couldn't come in and destroy the natural habitat just for housing developments or stores. I would like it to be in the mountains, preferably in the Appalachians somewhere. How about you?

Yes i like your home idea!! that's something I would go for but I will give you my other option. A simple comfy home in the middle of the bush, maybe more up on a mountian, right next to the river, and just a km down the way a nice waterfall,. A view I can see for miles away. A home that has hardwood floors, a wrap around neck and a huge padio. ohhhhh boy i cant wait to win the lottery!

My dream is a large rowhouse in the Girard Estates neighborhood of Philadelphia. Three storeys, 5 bedrooms, a huge kitchen, a fireplace in the living room, wrought iron furniture on the front porch, a small garden in back. I love city living, and I love Philadelphia. These houses cost around $350,000, so it's probably an impossible dream.

I would also like a log cabin by a nice stream with a lot of trees and wildlife. Not out in the middle of nowhere. I would like to be within 10-20 miles of a town where you could get supplies and groceries.

My ideal home would be an old heritage house full of character. I'd would like a house on the river in kingston ontario, facing some of the thousand islands. that would be beautiful. i love to go boating so i'd love to be able to dock right in my back yard.

I like independant house with garden in a decent colony. I need departmental stores, pharmacy and hospital in that colony. Another important thing is good drinking water. Water is the must. Then only, I will occupy the house.

I would love to live in a massive, gothic castle in the middle of a forest, on a darkhill. I want the whole horror movie ambience, with the creepy old gates, the huge castle rising out of the landscape, dark rooms... Conversely, I'd also like a really modern, innercity (New York, San Francisco...) apartment.

the castle sounds great, but they would be too cold for my old bones!..lol. But no cities for me! I can't stand them. I would have never thought of the castle..good idea. Thanks

I have always wanted to have a two story house with about 5 acres of land full of flowers and trees and fruit trees, animals to take care of them. This would be in the suburbs of the city.

Something nice sized, but not overly huge. And I would love to live in Russia or Italy. But I also wouldn't mind a house in Maine, Boston, Alaska, or Vermont.

I'd love to have a beach house village in a tropical island. I mean, own a piece of land just couple of meter away from white sandy beach and I will have some extra traditional and modern equipment hut besides the main house so I can have some friends that staying with us but yet have their own privacy. Of course with nature garden and lotsa water feature with lotus. Swimming pools with bars and lounge area And we'll try to build it with nature traditional materials....it's just a dream but who knows....
