I've been in accounting for6 years and that is before I started teaching. I have long holiday periods and i also had a pay cut. How do you survive a pay cut?

If you don't feel good about your job or if you will you are not treated or paid fairly, you defenately got to switch Anyway if you are not happy with your current job, it can only get better. As for the pay, I would advise to try to put some money aside every time you can even if it is not alot and not to touch it unless you really need it ( no, eating out is not a necessity and no the movie either!) Good luck anyway, I wish you all the best

I do agree that eating out and the movies are not a necescity. The lastime i switched was 10 years ago for the sake of my kids. I'm wondering if i should go back to accounting? Teaching has given me so much satisfaction and sense of accomplishment.

I think you should follow your heart If you think teaching is the job for you then maybe you need to go for it

maybe consider tutoring as well for a little extra is your pay has been cut too bad or there are a lot of online opportunities too - but stay away from scams though and by all means good luck in what you wanna do

I worked for the British government for 8 years, and saw many wonderful things, places and people. I also witnessed 3 beheadings, 15 firing squads, 1,000s of decapitated and mutilated bodies, 100s of maimed and crippled people. All by the age of 30! I, too, enjoy teaching now.
