Ever wondered about why we celebrate Valentines day? This is a pretty story!
St Valentine was a Christian priest who lived near Rome. The Emperor Claudius II woudn't allow yourng soldiers to marry but he perfromed the ceremonies in secret. When Claudius heard about the "friend of lovers" he had Valentine executed on 14 February 269AD.

Now this is the story of which I was thinking about. Sneaking for love! Defying authority. Oops, doesn't that sound a bit like teenagers? Anyway, this man was convinced of his faith and that is to be admired!! Thanks for sharing this.

What Saint Valentine did was a wonderful thing. It is sad that he got executed for trying to help young people who were in love. But just think, we still celebrate his name to this day. He would no doubt feel so proud if he knew. I personally think that Valentine's Day is the most lovely holiday in the world, even though I currently don't have anyone to share it with. I just think that love is the most beautiful thing in the world, and that we should celebrate it every day! ^_^
