Seatbelt Law

i think it is a good law, because it protects us from harm. i don't think this is taking away our freedom.....we can still not wear a seatbelt as long as we don't get caught. to force someone is to physically make him wear a seatbelt everytime one enters his car. take care. ciao vicky

Wearing a seatbelt is a good idea, but it should not be legislated. The government needs to get out of the business of protecting people from themselves. I know there are people who say that it affects other people through higher insurance rates or whatever but that isn't reason enough to infringe on people's rights. There are ripple effects to everything anyone does. Some will be good, and some will be bad. If we start looking at the end result of everything that ever happens and if there could possibly be a negative, we won't be allowed to do anything.
