who should decide baby name?

i just have a baby but i find it very difficult to fix name for my baby.everybody call different name i think my baby will lose his identity as he grew up

The parents should decide the baby's name together and others should respect the given name. Having said that, nicknames will often be given to a child naturally once his or her personality starts to emerge. I have a cousin named Anna, but until I was 4 or 5 years old I always thought her name was Mickey, because that's what my Grandmother always called her!

my hubby decided my elder son name n i decided our second. mostly i think parent should take the responsibility to fix for them.

I dont know how most people name their babies, but me and my hubby each took a turn gong through a baby book and each of us made a list of names we liked for boys and one for girls. then we matched up the ones that we both had and picked from there. it made it a lot easier to choose instead of, do you like this name do you like this name. and we decided on the name fairly easily that way.
