Why did you leave your company? What's your reason why you resign?

I just resigned from my 12year 8-5 hour job. The main reason I resigned is because I feel that I do not fit in my job as I used to.I'm not motivated anymore.I feel like there's no more room for improvement. There is very little focus on personal development. There's no way to go but to move on. How about you, what makes you leave a company? What drives you to resign?

wow a 12-year stay on a company is long enough..are you already working on a new company now? my first job lasted for 1 year and 3 months long. Im happy with my friends there and its really not easy to leave that company, I just have to.. Same with your reason, I moved because I felt like Im just doing the same thing over and over again..there's no room for improvement. But honestly, I can still stay, i was just triggered by a more personal reason thats why i resigned. Good thing, I have no regrets since Im more happy with my work right now. I have new set of friends, and Im now able to see my career direction. so dont feel bad, just move on, you'll not be leaving your friends there, just the company. DOnt be afraid to take the risk if you feel that your current work is not the type you'll end up with til you grow old. You'll not be able to realize the opportunities that may want to get hold of you til you open yourself and explore. Goodluck! Take care! ;)

I not working yet.I'm still enjoying my time with my kid and mu hubby. But later this month, I'll be leaving for abroad to look for a job. That's good to hear that your happy with your job right now and that you have no regrets leaving your old company.I hope It would be the same for me.

It's been 6 years since I decided to become a stay-at-home Mom and turn my back on a thriving corporate career. At the time, my hubby had a very good offer of a new job that would enable us to survive on a single income. It also came at the time when I got pregnant with our first child. So I guess the timing was really perfect. My main reason for hanging my corporate heels is burnout. After working for almost 10 years, I really felt so stressed and tired. Of course, the life of an SAHM, I soon discovered was as stressful if not more, and it was 24/7. But somehow, there's something about doing the work for your loved ones that makes it almost light as a feather. So far no regrets about leaving the rat race.

I was at the peak of my career when I resigned from one of the top companies here in the Phils. I was doing great. But I have to choose between my family and this career. I felt I'm neglecting my firstborn child, a girl. I was afraid she might grow up without me by her side and I dont like to happen to us what had happened to me and my mother. I grew up with my aunt, and my mom is like a stranger to me till now. And my husband supported me, he understood how I felt. Although leaving my job is also one of the hardest thing I"d ever done in my life because I worked hard to reach that point and eventually just give it up but I know for a better cause.

I've already been to 4 different companies( my present being the fourth). Based from experience my common reasons are that im not satisfied with the compensation, and that i want to gain more knowledge and experience related to my field.

I quit my job last year of February, i was with the company for 4 years and 5 mos as Project Engineer. . . i felt the same thing with you on my 2 years at the company, i am not motivated, no career growth, doing the same things over and over and sometimes my day will end up just sitting on my chair and nothing to do, i feel that my time are wasted, but what keeps me holding on to that company are my friends, i don't know, i can't leave the company because of my friends there . . .until nov of 2005 i gave birth and my husband got promoted and was transfer to hk . . i have to choose between my career and my family, my husband wants us to be in hk with him . . . and because of this reasons it becomes so easy to leave the company, but my friends there, they are still my friends, we still communicate . . .

Reason why I resigned from my 4 year and 10 months job last year because it's situated in Laoag City, and that time I'm preparing to get married in Manila. And my parents don't feel secured on me travelling from Laoag to Manila from time to time to meet up with my suppliers. It was a good paying job actually, but like other's would say... you have to make sacrifices to make your married life work. I'm currently unemployed for 7 months now and working on having a baby. But I really do want to work again. It's just that jobs don't like me hahaha!

i resigned from being an employee because my dream was to work for myself and have my own business. i was quite old already when i decided to do it because i was always procrastinating and i feel i have to make a big leap to the unknown instead of just thinking about it.

Its a very big decision for me when i resigned last year. Im on the peak of my career when i gave up everything to have more time with my husband and to continue my medical procedures to bear a child. Working in a call center for 5 years and working night shift for 10 months, i felt incomplete. In financial terms, im a-ok but in terms of emotional, i felt incomplete because i cant give my husband a baby. A month after i resigned, i got pregnant. My daughter is 2 months now.

I quit my job just last january 15. It was my second job and I was with the company for almost 2 years. I love what i do, but I can't anymore see my self in that company for years to come. I see a lot of undesirable things and i dont know know to disassociate my self best than to quit. In addition to that, i did not like my boss. Most her staff before me don't even last 3 months with her. I want to work in an enviroment where there is transparency and people values new ideas. I do not regret leaving my work, i think i am better off now. I havent applied for a full time job at the moment. For now, i work as a part-time research assistant and got a lot of free time for my self to do things i want.

took me 7years to leave my first job. i just got fed up of the usual overworked and underpaid scenario. i also felt unappreciated and unrecognized that despite efforts i have made, management is still not happy with the results. there's a need for me to change my working environment, i've already known my co-workers so well that i know if they're sold or telling me crap. i became too comfortable with my company that there's no more challenge in it.

I'm in a similar situation. I've just resigned from my job after eight long years, and my last day is on Friday (2/9). I'd say that the most compelling reason why I've made that decision is FAMILY. I have twin 17-month-olds and they're growing up sooo fast I can't seem to keep up with them. I can also relate to you on the "no-more-room-for-improvement" part. I felt that I had hit a glass ceiling for years! Going to work has just been a plain old routine. I guess when you feel that way already, it becomes so much easier to leave.
