Is Virtual Photographer the best free Photoshop Plugin ever?

I love digital cameras! I really do. Before I bought my digital, I took a number of courses, learned how to develop my photos in a dark room, but never really took a lot of photos. Now I am onto my second digital camera - Canon Digital Rebel and it is great! The reason for this post isn't to say I love my camera though, but to recommend a free tool I use that is simply amazing! It is a free plugin for Photoshop called Virtual Photographer, by optikVerve Labs. http://www.optikvervelabs.com/ It is the now the only plugin I use for Photoshop. The reason I love it, is because it allows you to essentially recreate the cool aspects of developing your own film, but in the digital world. It allows me to bring back some of the "old photo" fun to the modern digital age. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you check it out. If you have tried, I'd love to hear what you think...

Virtual Photographer is one of the best plug in for editing images in photoshop. There is also another one that I've use which is 55mm. It's not as easy as virtual photographer but for me it is more powerful with more function etc. So go try it out!

It does look pretty good. There is certainly a pretty good range of filters to play around with. However, at $245, it's not exactly free ;) lol...

Wow, that's pretty cool and it looks like a great spot. Photography has always been something that I would like to do more of but as usual life gets in the way....hoping one day I will find more time.

Yeah, I found it pretty easy.. simply download it and place the files in your photoshop (or paint shop pro) plugins directory. I would also recommend downloading the "FREE Additional Settings". It contains a number of preset settings so you don't need to experiment if you don't want to. You simply browse through the presets till you find the look you want :) If you have any questions fire me a message... +

Just thought I'd add this. This is a before and after shot of a very average (top) photo I took. I simply applied the Photocopy setting, and presto, I have the more dramatic looking one at the bottom. http://www.comedyaddict.com/before_and_after.jpg

Cool, never heard of it before. I just usually play around with the curves, levels, brightness and contrast, and the filters to get some effects for photos. http://your-graphic-design.blogspot.com
