Which is the soundest advice you ever had and 'never' heeded?

I personally feel there are countless instances where I never took the valuable advice of my friends/relations! One instance stands out prominently. In 1989, I resigned from a leading Multinational Pharma company, though my manager pleaded with me to stick on. He pointed out that I would be promoted the next month. I didnt listen and resigned the job. The next month, I was told that all employees of that company had been allotted shares. Those shares (if I had reamined, would have amounted to Rs.15 -Rs.20 lakhs(taking into account the bonus shares issued over the years!) in the Indian Share market today!

The soundest advice I received, lot of times and by different people, that I followed only when it was too late, was to quit smoking. I would not have the health troubles I have now if I had been wiser.

Yea, for me it was regarding boozing that I didn't take a decision, way back in 1990! It has cost me dearly over the years!
