sweet 16

my daughter is going to be 16 this year,and I need ideas on how to throw a sweet 16 party. I don't want it to be lame, but then on the other hand, I don't want it to be too wild. Any ideas on how to throw one? Is there a theme? Teenage food to have their,etc. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here's is what I am dreaming for my daughter's 16. We will rent a hall. A dj that plays update tunes will be booked. We'll get some good treats to snack on. There will be balloons, and decorations. There will be a place for gifts to be deposited. She can invite everyone. The kids will need a school id or be on a special list to get in. Estimated cost $1000-1500. I hope she is still up for it. Should be a blast.
