Geocities, are they good as a starter site?

I wonder if the geocities by yahoo are a good way to start a website. If the site is successful then it could be upgraded later. Is there much freedom with the geocities?

i think geocities is the goog site to start, i also start from the geocities

Geocities is a good website to start on. What I did after Geocities is www.piczo.com which allows more freedom and unlimited pages on your website. It also is very user-friendly and it helps you upload pictures on to it with great ease.
