I want to have my own but if all else fails, I will adopt from any part of the world. I don't know if we can afford adoption yet right now we are still saving for the future.

right now we are planning to have our own. If all else fails, we will adopt wherever my husband and I agree to adopt from. We don't have that option in mind yet.

I would adopt a child from anywhere. I am planning on adopting a special needs child but my plans were delayed in 2000. So as soon as I am back to work, I'll be geting back to that. I want to do foster care also and my state has a Foster/adopt program. Hopefully I can resume my plan this year.

mari that would be wonderful and I wish you all the best! People forget special needs children or those in foster care, so I send you extra hugs for being compassionate enought to care and love the children who need it most!

If I was going to a adopt a baby. First off thats what I would do. he or she would be living in the same town as I am. though I do want adoapt hopefully this year or next year. My son needs a baby sister or brother and I don't want to have a baby naturally again. I almost lost my son. Anyways adopting is better cause some moms and dads just can't afford a baby or don't want one right now. So I want to be a mom again to a new baby. I really want a baby girl though but I won't be picky when the time comes. I just am trying to get all my finances in order and a nice home before adding to my family.

I think it is best to go to a place where you have similar beliefs, crossing culture is hard enough without crossing beliefs and religion aswell. I would start in my home country first, then move on to say, Vietnam. I think as long as the kid is healthy and you do your best to make him/her feel loved, that is the most important. Thank you for posting this Heid's, this is a good one. People should be more aware and be more open to considering this option. What would life be like if every family had one child and fostered or adopted another instead of having the average 2.4 kid family from their own blood. It would change life itself!

If given the choice I would adopt from the US, or if abroad, then Russia, or a former USSR nation. One of the reasons I chose Russia is because I can speak conversational russian, which probably would help the child integrate into their new home.

I would ideally want to adopt from my home area because if you take someone from a different culture then they can end up feeling like they never have a home. I saw a TV show and the girl had been adopted from abroad and growing up she always was told she was different and told about her roots and when she went there she didn't feel like she belonged there either because she didnt understand the culture, or speak the language and I wouldn't want to put someone through that. I would love to help out someone that is in really unfortunate circumstances regardless of what theor home country is but I don't htink I would want to give someone a culture shock like that.
