Shangri la diet

My mom send me some magazines she was done looking through. I came across an article on the shangri la diet. I've lost weight just by portion control and keeping track of the food I've eaten going by the food pyramid. I just can't wrap my mind around this. You're suppose to take two tablespoons of extra light olive oil a day. Getting no calories one hour before or one hour after taking it and not taking it all at once. This is suppose to be so bland that is trigger your brain to shut down hunger signals. Has anyone heard of this or tried it?
