The act of shutting down several monuments in certain cities (I'm guessing you're referring to this?) is symbolic, but the answer isn't shutting down the planet, it's investing in renewable, clean energy sources. Have you ever watched "Escape from Los Angeles"? Hehe. If you have, just remember the ending! "Escape from LA" at IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116225/

yeah i completely agree with you . its impossible to do that , for shutting down the whole earth , we can spend a week to create awareness among peoples about our earth

i would find that VERY interesting! it would be fun and refreshing to try it. but i don't think that'll ever happen in my life time or ever. it'd be cool though and people shouldn't go to work either so they can spend time with their loved ones. if it was for a week, i would probaby hate it and miss all the electricity the world offers me. but it would be fun for experimentinting!

i think that would be stupid. i mean, there are plenty of people on life support and of course the stock market would be hit hard. and what about all the food?? people who have black out for a few days have a fridge worth of wasted food. how good it that. i think its better to teach people about conserving energy and using energy saving devices

Interesting idea for sure, and yes it may give people important insight to that the TV, the microwave oven, those aren't so very important really.
