Do you think our vision of "beauty" is being distoreted by the mass-media? Who can decide what's beautiful and what's not?

Mass media does distoret beauty. But the mass media of the past did the same. All of history beauty has been formed and molded into 'what's right' by the public. For myself I don't follow the media. I find beauty with my own eyes and purpose.

Neither do I. But I don't like what I see on television. If I don't like it I have the option to switch channel but what will happen with the new generation. What if they will react how they see on the mass-media.

Well I think the mass-media doesn't intentionally want to distort our vision of beauty. It is how strong we are in our belief on what really is beautiful. Media has the power to distort our beliefs with all the magazines and stuff that we see but if we know what is really beautiful no amount of pictures will change that. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as they say.

I think nowadays all that is wrong it makes good rate on the news and that's why they react like this. However there are a lot of people that they don't share the same opinion about the approaching mode of the mass-media.
