there's no really secret for a marriage tobe succesful. it basically needs two way traffic...both of you should be willing to love, forgive, trust, and understand each other. if not then your marriage would just turn to waste.

Hello, glawang, I am not a good advisor but I will try to put some input based on my marriage experience. I believe that a marriage can work if there is a good religion background, mutual respect, understanding, give and take, accepting personality imperfections, tolerance and most importantly, a good communication between couples. I believe that before entering a marriage, one must really understand that it is a lifetime commitment. I guess there wont be any divorce if we know the secrets to a successful marriage. I have marriaged four years. Last year I have a beautiful baby . I love my husbend and my baby . They also love me. I think the secrets to a successfull marriage is love and fealty.

Trust, honesty, friendship and good communication are all very important but you also have to work at a marriage to make it successful. It is like gardening "you reap what you sow". If you both put in the work then it will be a good marriage and will blossom and bloom but if you do not work at it then it will become full of weeds and not feel strangled.

All have answered well here but I would add one more thing. your spouse should be your best friend. you should be friends with the person before love, then you will be happy with spending the rest of your life with that one person.
