If u hav a carious tooth,if its very painful.then u mute hav visit dentists n even heard abt RCT.wat u would hav preferred for a grossly decayed tooth?RCT or xtraction? As a dentist i'll suggest u go 4 RCT,it can save ur original ,natural tooth.

Well I should be able to answer this one well. My family all has a bad health with teeth. I am 26 and have had root canals, and extractions both done. I would say the root canal and extraction would depend on the age of the person, and the shape the tooth is actually in. I know speaking from my exprerience with my teeth I was 25 when I had to make this decision. And being I was only 25 I had a life ahead of me. So I chose the root canal. But for someone older (Over 50) I would say probly an extraction becuase theyre immune system is not going to be as strong to fight off infection if the root canal is not succesful. So I guess this could go on many factors. Age, Lifestyle, and so on.

RCT mostly depends on age extent of decay ,shape of d tooth..i dont think it depends on lifestyle....but.its prognosis is most important 4 RCT.
