my gf and i are planning to get married next year but we keep on discussing on which place to settle. our workplace are about 5 hours travel. we both found it difficult to give up our job since we were both happy with it. what should we do?

there are only two options for you and two options for her.
for you:
1. Get a new job to a place near your gf
2. Get a new gf in your place
for her:
1. She should get a new job near your place
2. She should find a new bf near her place
It's just a matter of priority!

This situation happen to me also, I know it is really hard to decide. Based on my experience, long distance marital life is never easy and there are so many risk. After 3 months my wife and I decided to let go my wife job then she move with me and stick together till now. I suggest you to concider the risk (loosing time), it is better to let your or your gf job go and stick together.
