Do you share a first name with a relative

Are you named for a close relative, and did this make you feel you were not an entirely separate person when you were a young child? Did you try to be like this person as you grew, and do you feel a separate person now that you are adult?

I was always little marion or young marion. I never wanted to be like my mum I felt like just an extension of her and was unsure who I was for a long time. Right up until I was old enough to rebel regularly lol.

My pet name is the name of one of my Aunty's whom I mother adored and so is the name of my second sister. The only good thing is that we live in seperate states so do not have to meet her often or I would surely feel that I have robbed her name. I do feel I am a very different person

It is nice to have the same name as people you love, isn't it. It is a shame you live so far apart, but perhaps that makes it even better when you do meet up. You do feel you are a very different person, then and not a shadow of someone else, that's good. I hope you liked this discussion :-)

Sorry you feel that the discussions are getting tiresome, maybe try some of my others, or some of tomorrows - I have some really hare-brained ones lined up lol.
