I like the C and C++ programming language. They give me the power to do everything I want. How about you?

C/C++ used to be my mother-programming language. It is true that the language is powerful. It could be nasty at times, though the STL generally helps keeping things clean.
I also used Java for a while. My favorite language now is Ruby, because it is a very concise language, i.e. you can achieve with one ruby line of code what would require 10 or 20 line of codes of C or Java. built-in regular expressions and the syntactic sugar makes the language powerful. The drawback is, this language is interpreted, so slower than C/C++ (I don't know how it compares to Java in terms of speed, though).

Ruby is a server-side language, it's not comparable with c++. Just my opinion

Yes, I agree with you, And I also think that C is worth a lifetime to learn.

                            Thats true...U can't learn C enough.
There's always a greater portion left to be exploded.
C++ includes the whole C and added its own functionality. So its tougher and more powerfull.
Hats off to this two language that has shaped the modern programming era.
Thank you Ritchie and Stroustrup.

I would have to say C++ and manged c++ .net but I also love asp and python. C++ just gave you the power you need in lower level programs and managed makes it a lot easier. asp.net I see as simply an easy language to use so its quick. Python is fast and secure.
