I have cat separation anxiety! I'm living in a college apartment, and my cat can't live with me. She's stays at home with my family, and I see her on weekends when I go home to do laundry. Anyone else ever experience something similar? What are some ways that I can keep my relationship with my kitty healthy?

I can really feel for you. They are our furry brothers, sisters and/or children. The cat will be okay but I suggest you leave an article of clothing with your odor on it at her favorite sleeping spot. When you go home every weekend or so make sure you give her special attention. Rub on her. Pet her more. Play with her more. This way, not only the bond remains strong but so does your aroma on her.

That's a really good idea that I hadn't thought of. Cats' sense of what's "theirs" is strongly tied to smell. My cat stretches her paws up on me like she's scratching, except she just spreads her fingers really wide and uses her scent glands to mark me. So I'll have to find a blanket that I've slept with and leave it for her. Thanks!
