I have a chance to get a few rabbits to raise and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and how easy or hard it is to raise them. I would like to raise them for sale. I have the perfect place for them so I have no worries about room.

I see you're in the United States. Please check out the area near you before you start breeding. For example, I live in Southern CA, and every shelter I know always has rabbits. There are probably at least 1,000 rabbits in rescues and shelters in this area at this moment, looking for homes. Check out www.petfinder.com and www.petharbor.com before you start breeding to make sure you aren't adding to an overpopulation problem. Also, keep in mind that vet costs go up as you're breeding. Do you have a good rabbit vet in your area? Are you prepared for the costs? If you're in this just for the money, you may find that you lose more money than you gain. Check out how many people in the area actually want rabbits too. If you're not just going to indiscriminately give them to everyone who wants one, see if there are really many good homes near you.

We currently have a single rabbit. They have to be kept from over heating. Fresh water at all times. Sturdy cages so critters do get the chance to taste test. They do not eat carrots. Do love greens though. Introduce new food slowly, you don't want to upset their systems. They take dedication and be sure you can trust anyone you let tend to them. They skitter easily so keep them in a quieter section of the yard or whereever they are to be kept. This should give you some idea. Head to you local library and they will have books that you can also learn from . You have broken the number one rule! Know your subject well before you bring it home! Good luck!!

Don't forget the most important part of a rabbit's diet: hay. :) I've found a lot of books are very outdated. There is some good info at www.rabbit.org though.

We have a rabbit. I have no clue if you have to do something specail to sell them. But taking care of them is pretty easy. We clean the cage twice a week, he is a very nice rabbit that we play with. Look online about the care.
