What is your favorite childrens book you read to your child? Mine is "I love you this much" among others. Do you read to your child daily, or when you just have a chance? How old were they when you started?

My favourite was always Harold & The Purple Crayon. It doesn't make any sense but it puts me to sleep everytime. We read to our daughter every day, ever since she was born and she's now two. She loves books, and is even able to recognize letters, say her alphabet and even recognize some words and 'read' them. Our second child is on the way and we plan on keeping this tradition going with him too!

I love to read, but she hasn't been that into it lately, i think i've been reading to her too much! lol. I started when she was in the womb.

Was reading from a french book to my daughter as she nursed from me. Son would be around while we read together also. Would get out the chalkboard and make all the shapes and symbols in our society. Recited the vowels while changing diapers and keeping that fun. So alphabet and reading was always a part of what we did.

I read to my children constantly. They loved it, and so did I. My favorites were the books written by Mercer Mayer. He wrote some wonderful books that touch the topics that are important to young children, mainly family. I started reading to my children when they were old enough to sit in my lap and look at the pictures.

My kids (ages 8 and 5) and I love to read every night before bedtime. We all snuggle up on my king size bed and read. Some of our favorties are anything by Dr. Seuss, Charlottes Web, The Giving Tree, Bear Snores On. I think reading to them is such a great way to get them to love and appreciate books.

My favorite is "love you forever". I did read to my girls quite often. Now my oldest is almost 8 & an awesome reader. She loves to read to her 2 little sisters. Sometimes my middle child wants me to read to her so I will.

I liked reading I love you this much to my kids too. I also liked The Giving Tree, When you give a mouse a cookie and where the wild things are. I also loved the little critter books. My kids are getting too old for them now but I still like them.

i dont recall the exact age that my daugher was when i started reading to her, but i know it was around 3 or so. She had more books then she had clothes! she had always loved books and enjoyed when id make the funny voices. Her favorite books were the doctor suess books. We would go through books like crazy! Now shes in kindergrten and she has librabry once a week, so each week she brings home a different book that my husband and i read to her. She loves it! Good discussion!
